We encourage you to ask questions!  Here are some that have come up before....

Is CitizenRad a nonprofit?

CitizenRad is a for-profit, social good company. Given the pace that we want to grow our technology and platform at, we determined that being a for-profit company gives us better flexibility by not having to rely on grants. This business structure allows us the option of bringing on like-minded investors to our team, who could provide us with the resources and capital needed to build the best product to amplify social impact.

How can my charity or school join CitizenRad?

Individuals can sign up by using an existing Facebook or Twitter account. Don't worry, we won't post on your behalf or spam your connections.

Nonprofit organizations in the USA can join by going through our registration process and verifying their 501(c)(3) status. Nonprofits are asked to provide a valid organization email address and a main contact person.  Canadian Nonprofits and Charities will need to provide their charitable status number as well as a valid organization email address and a main contact person.

Is my payment secure?

Yes, we use Stripe and Frontstream as our payments processors, which are both certified as Level 1 PCI-DSS compliant.

PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) has been established through the formation of the Security Standards Council (Visa Inc., MasterCard Worldwide, Discover Financial Services, American Express and JCB International) to govern the acceptance, storage and transfer of credit card information internationally.

“PCI Compliant” is the typical terminology used in the credit card industry for complying with the standard established by the Security Standards Council. More information can be found at PCI Security Standards Council.

Does it cost anything for a nonprofit to create a profile?

All eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits as well as schools can become listed beneficiaries at no cost.  Zero. Zilch. Zip.

Can I specify how I want the organizations I donate to use my contribution?

No, donations made on CitizenRad are considered to be unrestricted, which allows nonprofits to use the donations at their own discretion. This gives nonprofits the flexibility to allocate these funds towards where they deem is most needed.
